Fatuaa as his Desert Rats kinsmen must be issued againat Danjuma, a so-called Christian; a coward who was used by the Moslem North to do their dirty job. Danjuma made a mockery and carricature of Africa's first and most decorated war hero. The statement has been demmed irresponsible by many Nigerians with sound mine. I am yet to hear from the Arewa condeming his statement against Ironsi as a desk clerk. For that statement alone, if Danjuma is not assasinated before his death and have his rib cage buried with him, he must definitely go straight to hell.

Danjuma’s comment on Ironsi irresponsible – Ohanaeze
By Sunny Igboanugo, Deputy Politics Editor
Another vitriolic voice was added on Sunday to the attack on former Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Danjuma’s apparent derogation of first Nigerian military Head of State, General Thomas Umunnakwe Aguyi-Ironsi.

In an interview, penultimate Sunday by The Guardian, Danjuma had described Ironsi as “useless” and “desk clerk” officer, a comment that drew the anger of the late Head of State’s widow, Victoria, who in response heaped a lot of invectives on the man, believed to have played active role in the killing of her husband.
Pan-Igbo socio-cultural association, Ohanaeze Ndigbo equally took on the former Chief of Army Staff, who confessed to having personally organised the arrest of the late Head of State, on whose entourage he was on the trip to Ibadan. The mutiny also saw to the killing of former military governor of old Western Region, Col. Adekunle Fajuyi, Ironsi’s host.
The body, which expressed shock at the development, described Danjuma’s comments as most reprehensible and irresponsible, as it was capable of re-opening old wounds and creating fresh problems in the country.
President of the organisation, Dr. Dozie Ikedife, told Daily Independent that this was not the type of statements that ought to be made by sound minds at this time of Nigeria’s development, especially now that every hand must be put on deck to build a rancour-free polity.
He said, rather than bring peace into Nigeria, the statement was capable of creating bad blood, especially as so many people still felt very passionate about the incident of the era Danjuma spoke about.
His words: “It is totally uncalled for. I don’t know why he went to making such reprehensible and irresponsible comment. Every African knows that you don’t speak ill of the dead.
“What was his motive for speaking in such a bad language of the man he admitted playing a major role in killing? What does he want those Ironsi left behind to do? Of what use is it re-opening old wounds and inflaming more passion. We are not talking about what happened, because many people have already given their own accounts, and it depends on which you believe is credible. But what we are saying is, why speak ill of the dead? What are you going to gain?”
He wondered why Danjuma was still habouring animosity, after taking his pound of flesh, even if he was right in assessing the situation that led him in carrying out the coup that killed Ironsi.
“Danjuma is already 70 years plus. One should expect that by now he should have mellowed down. The passion that drove him to do what he did should have waned by now. By now, he should have been advising those coming after him differently. Well I don’t know what is pushing him, but we should also remember that this was the same man, who was quoted as saying that he has too much money that he didn’t know what to do with it, while many Nigerians, including his kinsmen, are suffering. May be we should take our cue from there,” he added.

Hail Biafra

WP1, what I was saying was that Nigeria had a Ambassador Thomas Aguiyi-Ironsi who later became the Minister of Defence all under Obasanjo/Danjuma "rule". These are the people that killed or benefited from the killing of his Dad yet he worked for them. I have issues with that personally.

I agree but that statement was not made by Obasanjo, it was made by Danjuma under Obasanjo. Danjuma has no say with the appointment of foreign service. In addition, Danjuma is has no soul and is a lonener.

Hail Biafra.

Umuibe, the above link, Danjuma: Lamentation of a Bloody Traitor by Peter Claver Oparah, is a deconstruction of one of the known enemies of Ndiigbo. It is a must read.
