The Anti-Corruption Campaign in Nigeria is highly appreciated for flushing out corrupt persons from the system. While it is laudable that the Education Minister, Prof. Fabian Osuji and the Senate President Aldolphus Wabara should face justice because of their involvement in a bribery scandal, much remains to be done. If it is criminal to offer a bribe and also criminal to receive a bribe, what happened to the individuals who received the bribe money from Prof. Osuji? Only half or partial justice is done if Osuji and Wabara become the only victims of this national scandal. Osuji gave the bribe to identifiable individuals who are not ghosts. Justice demands that are the criminals in this case should be adequately disciplined. Pressure should be mounted on the Federal Government of Nigeria to expedite action in this regard.

I agree 120% with you fada. While we are at it, all those accused in the past of demanding bribe from El Ruffai should be thoroughly investigated and prosecuted.
To clean the whole stable is a task that Obasanjo has taken headon.
This crusade should also extend to NEPA( Billions was spent yet...)
Anenih( Billions on Road yet...)
NNPC (Billion on TAM yet...)
If Obasanjo's war on Corruption is to be taken seriously, he must show that he is serious by tackling the aboved mentioned problems. Rememer no sacred cow!

You are driving on the streets of Nigeria with all particulars ok as stipulated by the law.
A policeman stops you and demanded for them which you presented. He then asked for your purchase receipt which you don't have as nobody carries a car's purchase receipt around.
He threatened to take you to the station where you know you will spend the next 6 hours pleading to be released.
Unfortunately for you, you are on your way to write your final degree exam which if you miss, will add an additional year to your education (assuming there's no strike).
What will you do? Miss your exams or part with N100 and let the FOOL release you?
The foregoing happens everyday in Lagos and people pay! Bus conductors, drivers, bankers, lawyers etc. If you don't pay, you may even be shot!!!
That is the difference between bribery and extortion!!! If you think my theory is *b*u*l*l*s*h*i*t*, talk to John Elegido of Lagos Business School, he is a foremost lecturer, author and researcher on ethics or ask for literatures and I will scan and mail to you!
What Wabara and co did was to extort money from Osuji!!! The man didn't offer any bribe. The problem is that our people are not smart enough to know when they are the ones giving bribe and when money is being extorted from them
Is Osuji right to have given in? NO. He should have gone with a hidden camera under his jacket and would have been the hero now.

if you part with 100 naira so the olopa go release you, who will be able to tell olopa say enough is enough?
How about if Immigration and custom people stop you at the airport for trying to take more than the required food stuff, or for other excuses and you are about to miss your flight to America or London what will you do? give them egunja so they can let you carry on?
You see my brother, regardless of the reason or season we must stand up against corruption. If not when will it ever stop?
It is because we all have reason to give bribe that most people give in. After all, why do we have activist? It is because the police knows that we all have some where important to go that he uses delay tactis to force most to give bribe.
If a police stops me and i show him the particulars of the car i am driving, and he demands the reciept, for the car purchase, i will follow him to the station if he insist. We must stand up for our right and the truth.
I can not tell you how many times i have been delayed at check points, airport and offices. Once you give in, you have lost the moral ground to criticize those in power or those that demand for bribe.
We must sacrifice if we desire change.

Last time I depart through Murtala Mohammed airport, those custom office there said I was carry too much food stuff, I told them well you guys can have it, they thought I was joking. I left it with them. they say oga nobi so now. I left it there and proceeded with my flight, though I got angry look and silent treatment from my wife when I got back to base, but I felt so good that I didn't play by the rules of those guys. Even in front of them I gave my cousin the last naira currency with me, my cousin asked me if he could pay the custom officers with the money I gave him I said no.

Way to go Biafra. We must stand up and denounce corruption in all its ramification.
Several times they have stopped me and asked me to go to the 6th floor to obtain clearance for some food stuff. I brought out my mini camera and recorded all the activities that transpired while they kept me on hold. within a spate of 45mins, some other travellers with more food stuff than me gave them money and were checked in. They kept me waiting for over an hour while the continued their shameful deals. One of them saw me recording what was happening and called SS and their supervisor for me. After lenghty delays, they checked me in with all my food stuff. One other time, they refused to check me because i had some carved arts which i bought at Tejuosho market. They asked me to go to the Museum to get a clearance. I vehemently refused and they waisted so much of my time ane eventually checked my luggages in. You brothers and sister, all they want to do is waste your time. Do not ever give in cos' if you do, you have given them more ammunition to continue to nefarious acts.
Way to go Biafra!

I gotta say that the last time I visited, on my way back at the useless Ikeja Airport, the MForker with uniform was asking me for bribe and I didn't even get it at first. I was like Huh! Don't you get paid? Consider quiting the damn job if you don't get paid enough. I ain't given you nader.
This guy next to me said something like " e dey like say you have been gone for a long time". My buddy with me at the airport couldn't believe how I dismissed those guys and was worried that my luggage maybe contaminated or never get to destination with me. I told him to take the food stuff with him and that I can afford to loose all that I have in that luggage just to make this point to this muggers. We gotta stick up and stand up to this usually Yoruba guys.
