Nearly four months to the day since he announced in a hoarse voice on his evening newscast that he had been diagnosed with lung cancer, longtime ABC "World News Tonight" anchor Peter Jennings died Sunday, according to the ABC News network. He was 67.

He will certainly be missed but replaceable. Peter,a high school drop-out became an anchor at age 24 years of age. He was very demanding, clashed with most of his co-workers including Mr. Robinson, black and co-anchor in the 80's before he dies of aids and another black correspondence whom he particularly snobbed in the air during the Republican convention of Renald Reagan. Robin Robinson, now a co-anchor with Good Morning America is likely to replace him as the ABC News anchor. Peter was charming, commanding in English language and will certainly be missed for his death came too soon. May his Soul Rest in Peace.

Hail Biafra

The Guy was 67 years old and that is not too exactly too early if you ask me. Most people in the world will love to have lived that long and not to talk about what life and ABC News handed to him on a plater of Gold. WP, are you trying to say that he was racist?

May his soul rest in peace. Will he be taken back to his beloved Canada for final interment?

Quite a shame...he had a lot of on-screen presence.

Peter Jennings’ thorough international exposure was the only reason I chose World News Tonight over the makeshift competitions at NBC and CBS. Nighline anchor, Ted Korpel, is the only person at ABC as good as or better than Peter Jennings. Those interested in news that goes beyond American idiosyncrasies and clichés know that when Ted Korpel leaves ABC, it will be the end of that network's leadership in international broadcast journalism. Charles Gibson just doesn't cut it; he should stick with Good Morning America with Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts. Jennings’ exit has started the process of leveling the playing field in the competition between the three networks. When Korpel departs, it will be all over for ABC’s leadership.
