LERE OJEDOKUN, Abuja

PRESIDENT Olusegun Obasanjo has expressed gratitude to Ndigbo for what he
called their "very significant" contributions to the economic programme of the
administration.

At an audience with a seven-member delegation of World Igbo Congress, who paid
him a courtesy call at the State House, Abuja on Monday, he said Igbo sons and
daughters in his government have contributed immensely to the current economic
progress recorded in the country.

He also commended members of the United States based group for their genuine
concern about the country’s socio-economic development.

He promised to encourage socio-cultural organisations like the World Igbo
Congress that are committed to the unity and progress of Nigeria even as he
enjoined them to hold their congress and meetings within the country, rather
than overseas.

Obasanjo want WIC meetings held in Nigeria rather than overseas. Why bother OBJ, you don't need to watch these folks. They love you.
