RENEWED HOSTILITY IN ANAMBRA STATE

The leadership of MASSOB wishes to inform the International Community and the world at large of the unprovoked brutality of the Obansanjo led government on members of MASSOB in Anambra State Onitsha in particular.

This renewed hostility is coming on the heels of threats from agents of the government under the leadership of Chris Uba and these other leaders of NARTO (National Association of Transport Owners) Nginika Chijioke Aka Iyala, Benard Nwankwo Aka Agu Motors, Afam Odogwu, Aka Akaram , Calistus Nnabugo Aka Isieke and Gilbert Chairman Main Market Security that they will wipe out MASSOB by using any means (through killing ) so as to prevent MASSOB from boycotting the Nigerian 2007 election in the Biafran territories coming up soon.

In the past three weeks, they have used both air and land raids in bombing and killing both members and non- members of MASSOB. More than a thousand people have been arrested in Onitsha alone with about the same number missing.

MASSOB therefore wishes to state that we will not drop our non- violence position and our non- violence position does not exclude us from the right to defend ourselves from the police and Chris Uba’s brutality and killings. MASSOB wishes to advice it’s members to remain calm and peaceful, that the names of all those killed and wounded would soon be made public for the world to verify.

Our calm disposition on the humiliation meted out to our leader Chief Ralph Uwazuruike and all these brutalities should not be seen as weakness.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed.

March 20, 2006

PRESS RELEASE

COLD- BLOODED MASSACRE OF UNARMED PEOPLE IN OKWE, OKIGWE, IMO STATE, NIGERIA.

On March18, 2006, well – armed soldiers were dispatched from 34 Field Artillery Brigade, Obinze, near Owerri in two army trucks to the remote village of Okwe, Imo State, home to Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, detained leader of Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) where MASSOB members, men and women, were holding their usual monthly meetings. They shot indiscrimately at the MASSOB members and at the end of the heavy, war-like firings, 35 bodies were recovered from the bushes of people who mostly died of gun shot wounds on their backs. After this incident the soldiers picked up most of the dead bodies into their trucks and sped off. Meanwhile most of the over 55 wounded MASSOB members who were rushed to a Medical Centre near Owerri were later arrested and taken away by the soldiers. MASSOB reasonably believes they might have been killed execution- style in cold blood. And as we write, the bodies of these people have not been released to their families; probably buried in mass graves. The Igbo custom abhors and frowns at burial of Igbo bodies in shallow graves, mass graves or no graves at all. PARAN calls on the International community to immediately investigate these killings of MASSOB members. This has become urgent because PARAN believes that Olusegun Obasanjo has lost control of the soldiers at 34 Field Artillery Brigade and other areas. This is a very dangerous phenomenon, and the prospects of an organized clandestine genocide are very bright.

We also condemns the deployment of soldiers to states in South East following the National Census exercise scheduled between 21st to 25 ,2006. Towns, Communities and villages has been besieged by heavily armed soldiers ready to shot at Igbo citizens who refuse to be counted by the census enumerators. They are forcing people against their will to be counted in a ruse census exercise. This is uncivilized and unnecessary in a democratic system

Yours faithfully

Comrade Innocent Dike – Director.

NB: Many of the people who were arrested at Onitsha and taken to Abuja are not MASSOB members. This unholy act by Nigeria is a calculated agenda to continue to humiliate the citizens of Biafra. Nigerian detention centers are next to hell on earth. Only God knows the untold dehumanizing conditions these people are held in Nigerian concentration camps.

defensive secret "Aluo-agbalaga" -guerilla warfare is the only solution out of the mess. all the freedom fighters in the terrain of african nature used it. Mandela used it- yes ANC got military Wing. even here in Europe IRA- used it. not necesarily to defeat the enemy militarily but to defend themselves from being slaughtered like chickens.
if you are ready to die for a course, like the one Massobians are pursuing, you should also be ready to kill for it- if that is the only means to prevent being slaughtered like chicks and dumping your corpses in Massgraves.
................................
prepare to defend your lives , go underground or go home! why waist your lives, why choose to be slaughtered like chickens, why choose massgraves to normal burial.
............................................
the issue of no enough weapon.. no weapon enough.. should not arise here. One should use whatever one could lay hand on to neutralise the killers intelligently, secretly and safely.
Mandela-ANC did not wait untill they have enough weaponry to match that of white south african army-killers, IRA-of Irland did not wait to have enough weaponry to match british occupiers, Iraqis did also not wait to have enough armoury to match the world most modernise Army of AMERICA! - if they do, they will wait forever!

strike the mass muderers from the back, in the night hour, when they lest expected, secretly, scientifically and intelligently.

the right to Live is our natural and God given right!

This is sooo funny. Are you people for real? MASSOB is nothing but a collection of hooligans who are taking the good citizens of Anambra state for a ride. What does the actualization of Biafra has to due with collecting dues from traders who are citizens of Nigeria? What rights do these hooligans have to attempt to create a government within a government? How could they expect the duly elected (finally taking its rightful place) watch while MASSOB take over the state? Who controls Nigeria...these hooligans or the Federal government?

The MASSOB calls the Federal Government's effeor to free the good citizens of Anambra from its illegal grip sign of weakness. Now that is a laguh. Who is weak here? Your leader was arrested and sits in jail, your call for his freedom is ignored and you are powerless, after all your threats, to effect his release and you dare say the Federal Government is weak! Soon, the whole of MASSOB machinery will be wiped clean from Anambra state and from all Igboland and MASSOB will soon be left with toothless supporters like the ones on these site who sit in far away aland and urge on the fools who call themselves members of MASSOB.

You guys better find jobs to do and stop all your rascality. Governor Obi is more rascal than all of you put together and the Federal Government of Nigeria will crush you again if you dare call out another illconceived war.

Hello Kesu,

It is interesting to read your article which also gives me an insight into your understanding of things and your world and Nigerian perspective. I do not know how much education you have or how much you are exposed, but I think you are one of such Nigeians who is narrow minded. You should know that agitations are part of a civil society. People have the right to agitate. The reason why Massob may be perceived as a hooliganistic activity is because Nigeria has a governmnet that is insensitive and does not care about public views. WE do noto have a governmnent in Nigeria that is defined. If you are well versed in the act of governance, you should know that what we have in NIgeria at moment is no democracy. It can be called democrazy?. OUr government is unstable and the president does whatever he like. Look at the case of the Vice President. VP Atiku is serviing Nigerians and not President Obansango. Nigerians and Politicians should be abloe to know when to differentiate public leadership from personal or ethnic hate. I hope you would reconside your stand at moment for the interest of peace. Why should government that is sane, use such brutal force on unarmed citizens? Please ask yourself that question. How on earth are justified for using a cudgel on a small who is cursing you or throwin sticks at you even though the child is judged wrong for not respecting you as an adult. Common sense is not commom.

Bye.

Voilence to me is the last resort for us but like my compatriot said above,we will not allow our Enemies to slaughter us and our Kingsmen like Chicken.......I personally do not advocate for voilence but i will use anything at my disposal to defend my fatherland and if Gun is my last resort,i will use it will pride cos the sun shall rise again.

The Nigeria government and some hodlums like Uba and co. are so determined to wipe away anything MASSOB from the face of the Earth but i tell you that all their evil plans towards us has not in anyway affected us or our growth, the illegal detention of our Leader has given us strength and more confidence in our fight for freedom and for sure we must get what we want.As it is always..."THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS"
