Guys,

I don't know if any of you got to see the one and only Area Scatter, the cross-dressing entertainer.

I just listened to a song that reminded me of her - you know the usual one string calipso(akuko n'egwu) ie musical stories.

Area was a regular at the NTV channel 6 Ukonu's Club. One of his famous catch phrases was: "If I'd lied to you, may I bath without clothing". Of course you just take him serious until you stop and think, then you say; 'hang on, does this guy normally bathe with clothes on?'

I dont know what the stringed instrument he played is called but it looks like the half of a small to medium sized calabash and boy did he/she play it with skill!.

I never got to see Area as a man since I only ever saw him performing dressed as a woman. He/she was very beautiful. For a he, he was a poem and hearthrob and for a she; area was glamorous like the "asempete" class if you know what I mean.

Unfortunately, Area died in a ghastly motor accident and Elekwachi Ukonu(presenter) was in tears for a few consecutive Ukonu's club program.

I just wondered if anybody knew the Egbema/uguta born musician.

Brother Ohafia
Oh yes Area was one of a kind, if area was born in this country he world have been a multi million. Here I Hollywood where I work I have seen some not so talented enterainers make it big. I used to remember area playing that his Ikpa the native Guiter made with Calabash. Boy he can play and sing. And as cross dresser he was so beautiful dressing like a woman. I guess we kinda never thought anything of his cross dressing because we were hang on his talented. Plus most people back home doesn't have ideas of Homosexuality so nobody ever questioned Area;s musculinity. Well may his soul rest in perfect peace.
