Often when people are characterised to be erudite, they seem not to subscribe to the notion of being Superstitious, nonetheless, I dare contend that there are situations or stories, that can make even die hard Agnostic, wonder - just maybe!.

Now, take a look at this FIFA World Cup win statistics, and tell me if you don’t exclaim - what a bizarre statistics!

In 1970 and 1994, BRASIL won the World Cup. 1970 + 1994 = 3964.

In 1974 and 1990, GERMANY won the World Cup. 1974 + 1990 = 3964.

In 1978 and 1986, ARGENTINA won the World Cup. 1978 + 1986 = 3964.

Now, check this out - 3964 - 2002 = 1962. Guess, who won the World Cup in 1962?

I’ll leave you to ponder on that.

Taribo moves on while the Modakeke Cgief still dey look for who to blame.

Bolton in move for Taribo West

LONDON (Reuters) - Bolton Wanderers say they are looking to sign Nigerian defender Taribo West.

"We are in talks with Taribo West's representatives. Taribo is a quality player with a great deal of experience," Bolton's manager Sam Allardyce told the premier league club's website.

"He is a player I would like to have in my squad."

The 28-year-old defender, known for his colourful hairstyles, played in Nigeria's matches against Argentina and Sweden at the World Cup last month.

He announced his retirement from international football after his side's first-round exit from the tournament.

West spent most of last season at Kaiserslautern in Germany, alongside France's Youri Djorkaeff -- who joined Bolton in February -- but was released in April for disciplinary reasons.

West spent the previous season in the English premier league with Derby County, after spells at AJ Auxerre in France and Inter Milan and AC Milan in Italy.

Nkem:

Brazil in 1962. Bizarre though, but good for professional gamblers and bookmakers. What do you think?

Hi Guys.

I just back from a golf holiday hence my belated response.

Ednut:
Firstly, let me start with my opinion of Taribo West; for a player some youths probably look up to, I must say his working-off of his coach publicly was reckless. You wrote that Taribo is: "... known for his colourful hairstyles..."; The last time I checked, the William sisters had dropped that colourful hairstyle, and moved on.

TB:
It's been a while. Now, to your question, honestly I can't say how good the bizarre statistics is for professional gamblers and bookmakers. However, I dare say it is suggestive or shall we say; thought-provoking.
The Danes had this statistic that did not materialize the time around. It started in 1984, when Denmark lost to France, at the opening of the European championship in France, and France won the Championship.
In 1992, France lost to Denmark, in Sweden and Denmark won the European championship. In 1998, Denmark lost to France (World Cup), France won. In 2002, Denmark lost again to France in Holland, and France won the Championship.
So it was that when France lost to Denmark just this June, the Danes started to dream, until England woke them up from their sweet dream.

Nonetheless, it is suggestive though; for sure professional gamblers and bookmakers could start getting ideas.

For those of you in Europe, chances are that it is your holiday right about now - Happy summer holiday.
