This is nothing but pure and simple SLAVE work for this aging footballer.

Finidi Gets Strange Deal

FORMER Nigerian international Finidi George has revealed that he is been remunerated by his Spanish club Real Mallorca on a 'pay as you play' basis.

Mallorca signed Finidi for a second stint during the winter transfer window and he has been a regular in coach Luis Aragones' squad ever since.

But the Spanish side included a clause in Finidi's deal that means he has to play a minimum of 50 minutes in any match before he receives any money.

Finidi has only reached the 50 minute mark on five occasions so far but he is philosophical about the situation.

"It's not easy having to play to earn money, but I'm not here just for money," said the former Ajax Amsterdam player.

"The most important thing is to be happy working with the coach and I am staying because I knew what I was signing.

"It's all signed and if I don't play 50 minutes then I don't get paid."

Finidi insisted although he came on with just 25 minutes left to play in the second leg of their fourth round UEFA Cup tie against Newcastle, it didn't mean he made any less effort.

"If I have to go on for 10 or 20 minutes, I still try and do the best I can, as I still get paid win bonuses," he added. "I try and give everything for the team whatever the circumstances."
