DR. CHUBA WILBERFORCE OKADIGBO WAS MURDERED

In an emergency meeting held on Saturday the 27th day of September 2003 at Enugu, The Coalition of Igbo Youths Organisation (CIYO) resolved as follows: -

1. That Dr. Chuba Okadigbo’s death is unnatural. CIYO contend that his death is not un-remotely connected with the brutalization, dehumanization and torture he and others were routinely subjected to at Kano by the special presidential murderous gang otherwise called the Nigeria Mobile Police Force.

2. The evidence at our disposal show that expired and poisonous canisters of teargases were thrown at the Late. Dr. Okadigbo with an informed aim of ensuring that he dies thereafter. The opinion of the managers of the Nigerian State at the Federal level to put Dr. Okadigbo permanently out of circulation is predicated upon the fact that he is the “sole” intellectual and ideological spirit behind the ANPP struggle for justice and equity and that his presence gives the struggle a wider multi-ethnic and multi-religious colorization and support.

3. That the attack on Dr. Okadigbo and others at Kano is unjustifiable, wicked and criminal and an investigation must be conducted into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

4. CIYO calls on all Ndi-Igbo both at home and in the Diaspora to insist on a judicial panel of enquiry to look into the circumstances surrounding his death. His death is a pointer to the fact that Ndi-Igbo and other cheated and repressed sections of Nigeria are not wanted. Dr. Okadigbo is a Democratic and Political Martyr and his struggle must not be in vain; the need for a Sovereign National Conference (SNC) becomes more eminent now as the basis of the Criminalization of the electoral process in Nigeria is founded on the desire of the dominant, social, economic and political hegemonic forces in Nigeria to permanently appropriate National wealth through the exclusive appropriation of political power to the inhuman exclusion of others.

5. CIYO further resolved that Ndi-Igbo and other lovers of justice, equality and peace should not participate in the event of the 43rd Independence Anniversary of Nigeria as we believe that this is not an Independent country as all our actions and omissions depicts a contraption and concentration of a greater percentage in the gallows built with the National wealth while the wealth is only in the hands of a few.

6. CIYO posits that the death of Dr. Chuba Okadigbo marks the end of an ERA in Igbo Politics and the beginning of an era of Ndi-Igbo in POLITICAL WILDERNESS. The death of the OYI of OYI is one of the greatest degradation of Ndi-Igbo in our march towards a political and cultural advancement in the Recrudescence of Ndi-Igbo in our age struggle for justice in Africa.
