PRESS RELEASE! PRESS RELEASE!

GENERAL J.T.U.AGUIYI IRONSI & JULY 29: STILL A DAY OF INFAMY

Today, as the world focuses on Darfur and Southern Sudan, perhaps trying to avoid a recurrence of the shameful neglect of the 1994 Rwanda genocide (second in modern Africa), it must not be allowed to forget July 29, 1966, a day that will forever live in infamy. On that day, bloodthirsty Hausa-Fulani Muslim troops and their agents murdered General J.T.U. Aguiyi Ironsi, the Nigerian Head of State and his host, Col. Fajuyi in cold blood. They also not only killed large numbers of officers and men of Igbo and Eastern origin, but embarked on the first genocide post second world war. Pregnant Igbo women were disemboweled and young girls raped by lepers. Many who tried to escape from Northern Nigeria were beheaded and their eyes gouged by the Nigerian Islamic troops and their agents. An estimated 100,000 Easterners were massacred and property worth hundreds of millions of dollars destroyed. More than 2 million of these Easterners succeeded in fleeing home to the East, dazed and brutalized.

But the Hausa-Fulani Islamic terrorists and their foreign agents attacked the Easterners even in their new nation of Biafra and massacred another 3 million people during the Nigeria-Biafra war (1967-1970) as a shameless world stood by. Indeed, the Islamic fanatics and their agents have continued their "quiet genocide" since the end of the Nigeria-Biafra war 34 years ago. In their bid to impose a Taliban-like Islamic Republic on Igbo Biafrans and other Nigerian Christians, they have killed thousands of innocent Igbo Biafran Christians in Kano (1980 and 2004), Maiduguri (1982), Yola (1984), Gombe (1985), Kaduna (1987), and in several other cities.

We must warn that our patience is running thin and that retreating to "our tents" this time around will make the present situations in Darfur look like a child play. Igbo/Biafrans are peaceful people but must not be interpreted by anyone as cowardice. Therefore, we demand that: (1) The Nigerian government stops its historic genocide against the Igbo by immediately withdrawing its "shoot at sight" policy against the peaceful Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), Biafrans carrying Biafran artifacts, and houses displaying Biafran flags; (2) Nigerian police force, under the guardianship of General Obasanjo (and his Yoruba clan), an agent of the Islamic jihadists, who perpetrate genocide against Biafran activists must cease and desist from their iniquitous acts. We are prepared to charge them with war crimes if they venture into a civilized world. What happened to Abdul Salami in US is an example; (3) The Nigerian government must cease and desist from harassing, intimidating, and blackmailing Igbo Biafra Bishops and their clergy who condemns its continued genocide against Igbo Biafra Christians; (4) The US and all freedom loving Christian countries, including the United Nations step in, while all is still calm, to rescue the situation by supporting Igbo Biafra quest for self-determination as they did for the Moslems of Kosovo, Bosnia, Macedonia, and the rest of other countries. A stitch in time, they say, saves nine.
