Disease prevention will provide the economic foundation necessary for the realization of a better society.

REVEALING THE "SECRET" TO GOOD HEALTH

[THE WAY TO A BETTER SOCIETY]

What you are about to read will perhaps shock and amaze you, even anger you, but it will awaken you to the single most fundamental “root cause” of sickness and disease in society today. Herein brought to [light] is a simple solution to many of mankind’s most important and complex social and economical problems by and through the “prevention” of sickness and disease, including cancer.

Awaken my friend: A basic understanding of disease causation is the knowledge society must have if there is to be any meaningful reduction in the burden of health care both to the individual and government alike. Disease prevention, not costly treatment, is the only real solution to the soaring problem of health care the world over. Disease prevention will save hundreds of billions of dollars in annual health care costs in the U. S. This enormous annual savings can then be better used to fund the Social Security short-falls expected in the coming years. Disease prevention will bring about a higher standard of living. Individuals will have more money to pay themselves out of debt. They will have renewed hope in the future. Higher education can be provided free or at drastically reduced costs. In short, Disease prevention will provide the economic foundation necessary for the realization of a better society.

Are you concerned about the future? You should be. The United States [and the world for that matter] is on a collision course with moral and social disaster. Experts say that by the year 2050 the population of the world will nearly double; that by the year 2025 the U. S. will have 40 million more senior citizens than it does now; that within 10 years the costs of health-care in the U.S. will double to over 2 trillion dollars annually; that one out of two people now living will get cancer. [That is to say that one-half of your children and the people you know, work with and care about, will get cancer.]

Why are cancer rates going up? In answer to this question doctor’s say, “they aren’t sure.” Stop and think about this! Don’t you think in light of the severity of the matter that in this age of technological achievement that you [and your children] should be better informed by such trusted and professed brilliant doctor’s in whom you most likely will place your very life?

Why are cancer rates going up? Is there a fundamental “root cause” to most of mankind’s most chronic diseases, including cancer, which the medical community [for want of profit] has not shared with you? Yes there is. And it is the purpose of this

communication to awaken the reader to certain fundamental facts not now generally known so as to improve the physical, mental and spiritual welfare of society.

The great obstacle in the way of promoting good health in society today consists in the fact that the most common “root cause” of mankind’s most chronic diseases---cardiovascular disease, diabetes, blindness, kidney disease, liver disease, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, arthritis, strokes, heart attacks and cancer, remains unknown to the public-at-large. With such ignorance it is no wonder that millions and millions of men, women and children suffer from a variety of disorders, symptoms or diseases at great social and economical costs.

THE SECRET

This is to call to your attention the “key” or “secret” to the nutritional prevention of sickness and disease. That this has been a secret will become clear to you as you now begin to acquire a basic understanding of the “vital” importance of “electrolyte balance” to human body function and the prevention of sickness and disease, including cancer.

The nutritional content of food has been under study for more than 50 years of modern time yet the public is almost totally ignorant of certain fundamental facts regarding disease-causation. And this lack of knowledge serves only to profit those individuals who have chosen thus far to place a higher value on the things of this world than on those of the next. But it is the new millennium. It is time for a change.

The human body can be correctly thought of as a living energy system---an electrochemical energy system --- Do you know what the primary electrolytes of this energy system are? Most people do not. [a sad testament to the concealment of fundamental knowledge.]

What do you know about potassium? Most people know practically nothing except that it is in orange juice and bananas. [a sad testament to the concealment of fundamental knowledge.]

What do you know about sodium chloride (salt)? Most people know too much salt is bad for you but very few know or understand just how essential and yet how dangerous and caustic this common substance really is. Why is this important? Because potassium and sodium are the primary electrolytes of the human body. And as such control the normal functioning of all of the bodies cells, organs and glands and for which when imbalanced causes different symptoms, disorders or diseases, including cancer.

Living tissue has the capacity to concentrate potassium and distinguish it from sodium. Neural electricity results from the differential permeability of an inter-face or cell-partition, to these elements, the inside of a cell being negatively charged, the outside positively. The sodium-potassium ratio is changed in a nerve cell when it discharges its electrical potential. This change is such as to allow sodium ions from the outside, which previously had not been able to penetrate the membrane, to surge into the axon, while a smaller excess of potassium ions move out.

Thus, it can be seen that an “imbalance” in the sodium-potassium ratio could disturb the electrical potential of nerve cells, and, since the reproduction of cells is also dependent on that electrochemical potential, disturbance of it might well produce weaken, diseased, or deformed cells, leading in time to a whole host of illnesses, including cancer.

The human body is by nature constituted to require only about 200 milligrams of sodium (one-tenth of a teaspoon) per day. However, to accommodate commercial and other self-interests the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) chose to conclude that the body could safely consume and eliminate (12) times this requirement at 2,400 milligrams per day. This situation is further compounded in that the typical daily individual diet intake now exceeds 6,000 milligrams of sodium per day, or about (30) times our daily requirement [without public health warnings] and this excess sodium has, and is having, disastrous consequences upon society. And it should also be understood that with age comes decreased kidney function and increased cellular sodium levels resulting in all manner of symptoms, disorders, or diseases.

For example:

[1] Excess sodium intake causes a serious loss of potassium from the body. Potassium, by activating many enzymes, is essential for muscle contraction. The greatest harm done by potassium deficiency is probably its effect on the heart. Heart attacks are often associated with low blood potassium and a low potassium diet. Animal experiments have shown that animals deficient in potassium suffered extensive degeneration of the heart muscles and it appears likely that a lack of potassium in the coronary muscles may well be the major cause of death from heart disease in humans. [2] Excess sodium causes a loss of calcium which in time leads to osteoporosis, affecting over 25 million Americans, mostly women, chiefly because of less bone mass than a man. [3] Excess sodium causes a loss of potassium which affects both insulin production and absorption leading to diabetes and its associated symptoms or complications such as blindness, heart disease and kidney failure. [4] The DNA genetic code imprinted within all living cells is transmitted in the construction of a new cell and this code transmission, or imprinting, is an electrochemical transmission. Thus it can be seen that a significant alteration of the sodium-potassium ratio might well cause blurring or even obliteration of certain parts (genes) of that imprinting. Since the code is transmitted from each cell by an electrochemical impulse, distortion of the sodium-potassium ratio could weaken this impulse to the point where it would take place ineffectually or even fail to take place at all resulting in cell mutation leading to cancer. [Cancer occurs when there is error in cell reproduction.]

Today, the Nation’s Health is in chaos. Billions and billions of dollars are being spent on health-care while congressional debate goes on and on. Americans are spending hundreds of millions of dollars each year for pills to make them sleep, more millions for pills to wake them up. Pills by the ton to alleviate constipation, to reduce weight, pills to improve the appetite, pills to cut down the appetite, pills to pep you up, pills to calm you down, pills to break the habit of taking pills.

Not only has American medicine degenerated into a state of “pill prescribing” but it has become so fragmented with so many specialists in so many areas of the human body that a patient no longer can find his way through the maze, and hospital and medical services are pricing themselves out of reach. Why this chaos in a country of such brilliant materialistic and technological achievement?

According to the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) scientists discovered in the 1950s a link between diet and coronary heart disease, the nations number one killer for 50 years. And at some point over the next 15 years they discovered a relationship between diet and cancer. Salt-cured and salt-pickled foods were linked to cancer of the stomach and esophagus. Yet, today (40 years later) the public remains uninformed of specific information regarding this linkage and according to the AICR “the impact of salt on cancer rates is unknown.”

Why is the impact of salt on cancer rates unknown? It requires no great depth of intellect to understand the “importance” of electrolyte balance in the reproduction of cells and DNA abnormality (cell mutation) leading to cancer can be expected to occur sooner or later when this balance is significantly altered.

If mankind were to eat only natural foods (fruits, nuts, grains, vegetables) from the bountiful table of Mother Nature as against canned, processed, or improperly cooked foods he would find that the ratio between potassium and sodium in natural foods was at least 25 to 1 in favor of potassium. A diet of processed, canned, or improperly cooked foods produces a large deficiency in potassium and an enormous excess in sodium from what Mother Nature obviously intended. Anyone eating these salt-laden foods in abundance can readily be seen as throwing their body so electrochemically out of balance that fatigue, depression, illness, malfunction and disease has to appear sooner or later.

The reform of the American health care system is essential to the control of soaring health care costs…But the focus of attention must become “prevention” and not costly treatment. A basic understanding of the causal relationship between sickness and disease and “electrolyte imbalance” is the knowledge society must have. And this lack of knowledge regrettably bespeaks of its concealment so as to bring profit to the medical profession in the treatment of the many disorders, symptoms or diseases resulting from this single fundamental root cause. [A fact clearly known by the medical profession as evidenced by the routine intravenous infusion of electrolytes to patients during hospitalization.]

There must be a change in direction. Salt consumption in today’s fast-paced society is increasing and you and your children will pay the price of sickness, disease, and untimely death, if there is no change in direction. Share this information with the people you know. Contact the news media and health officials and ask them: Why is the impact of salt on cancer rates unknown? Why is the vital importance of “potassium” to human body function and the prevention of sickness and disease never talked about?

Realize: the basic imbalance in the potassium-sodium ratio in canned, processed or improperly cooked foods as opposed to the potassium-sodium ratio found in natural foods. Understand: that the electrolytes control the normal functioning of all of the bodies cells, organs and glands, and that when out of balance that fatigue, depression, illness, malfunction and disease has to appear sooner or later.

Stop poisoning yourself and your children with salt-laden foods. Increase your potassium intake with fresh fruits, nuts, grains and vegetables. Drink orange juice--an excellent high-ratio source (0mg.sodium/460mg.potassium). And escape, at least partially, the perils of competitive materialistic living.

It’s a simple solution. It is “Truth”.

Accept it or reject it. The choice is yours. But at least---tell your children about it before they have to bury you---or you bury them.

It’s their future too!

I AM

Very truly yours,

Hank Anderson

Adaora:

Very interesting piece, and strangely enough, the other day for the first, I participated in a Beer Testing session. The beer expert produced a scientific study, not unfamiliar with yours truly, that a moderate consumption of beer daily, actually helps prevent – cardiovascular disease.

One Building Society’s magazine had a headline, "Women foams beer". The gist of the matter in a nutshell, is that we have been made to believe that traditionally men drink more been than women. But, from a health point of view, it ought to be the opposite.

Citing a Harvard School of Public Health (1999) study, that showed a moderate consumption reduces the risk for cardiovascular disease to about 25%.

However, even more interesting is a recent research finding, that recommends women consume a moderate dosage with good conscience. According to Denise Baxter of the British analysis Company "Brewing Research International", the reason is owing to hops (humle in Danish), that is one of the main ingredients in the beer, has a positive effect on the osteoporosis. Which is precisely one illness that mostly affects women.

Hear Denise Baxter: actually elderly women ought to drink more beer.
Pity my mama is of blessed memory else I could have loved to share some buzz with her.

Wine is also equally good. Expert’s say, Sauvignon (Red wine) from Chile is best for cardiovascular disease. I have often wondered if our traditional Palm Wine also counts. Is there any expert opinion?

If you are afraid that your belly might grow from drinking beer (Read: beer-belly), it is a myth that you get beer-belly from drinking beer. It is more a question of your life style. There is therefore, no link between big-belly and beer. Drinking milk from childhood also helps prevent or reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
On the other hand, smoking, lack of excessive, what you eat etc, are what you have to watch out for.

Now you know girls :-)

Dede Nkem,

Did you say "lack of excessive"? Just curious.

You said

I don't know how to put this, but let me just say the correlation I have observed between heavy beer consumption and a hanging pot belly is a definite straight line. I will have to disagree with this research finding, much like the one that once said tea had more caffeine than coffee.

On the other hand man has always known that moderate consumption of alchohol is actually beneficial to the body.Apostle Paul in one of his epistle to the Romans (I think) actually said "a little wine for thy stomach sake". I also remember the purpoted medicinal power of guiness which some say was once sold by chemists.

Indeed alchohol has been given a bad name only because of mans excesses. Like every good thing over consumption has it's negative effects.

Nkem,

Thanks for the health tidbits. I shall remember to add a glass of undiluted raffia palm wine to my dinner menu, should I decide to indulge in alcohol consumption. Hmm...it looks like I have to wait till I get to Biafra for my kind of wine.

Ha! Nze OU.

One for the road, how about we settling for exercise?

Do you know that Greenland is a kinda of Danish colony? Over here we have this joke: we ask - what do you say to a loved one? You can bet, he/she will say “I only have ICE (EYES) for you. Can you catch the point?
(I think it is much fun, when a guy says that to his girl though, now you are inspired).

Chiboy:

First, thanks for helping me out on “Pot belly”. I was trying to remember the word.

Well, I dare say that the correlation you have observed between heavy beer consumption and a hanging pot belly is a definite straight line, is a matter of opinion.

Yes you are right on it, if it is heavy beer consumption. And besides, it does not help your figure if it is coupled with “lack of excessive” oops - exercise. I’d like to think it is the moderate consumption of beer the myth is about.

Beer, I think (can’t remember exactly), has ca 40 kcal pr. 33 cl. You can check and confirm, while milk has about 41 kcal.

Another example, wine does not make you fat, but it is how and what you drink the wine that is the problem. Let us say, you drink wine with chips or some junk or something like that, you are in danger.

In Denmark, a standard bottle is about 33 cl.

Adaora: U R welcome.

Dedem,

Thanks for the clarification. You see I didn't want to speculate on the "excessive" that was healthy. I knew if I'd tried to, Mandy will bombard me with PM's on her concern about my health.

Now, if Chiboy and yourself want to see "afo beer" take a look at Obasanjo as soldier!

Gosh, Obasanjo's "afo beer" is a terrible sight to behold, though it is rumoured that an insatiable apettite for Iyan (pounded yam) not beer is responsible.Whatever, if Oga Nkem has not seen it let this be a viewer discretion.
